We would like to introduce you one of the most rarest& exotic species of hardwood on Earth (Dura Dura). It is classified in category 1, in density, availability, and hardness. At 3/4" thick, 1 square foot weights nearly 4 pounds.

For thousands of year in the orient, Indonesian Daru-Daru hardwood species has been praised for its beauty, durability, and it natural fragrance. Today, you will only find this product in the finest homes in Asian from China to Singapore to Indonesia. They are only found in wealthy business men's home and also in the homes of lumber companies’ owner.

This product is more precious than any Granite or Marble or any other product found in flooring. There are mountains of natural stones, but very little of Indonesian Dura-Dura left and those available are very difficult to access. This species life span ranges from a thousand years to a few centuries old. Its growth cycle is very slow.

Timberline Flooring believes in preserving nature for future generations. All Indonesian Dura-Dura harvest is managed. We will not manufacture nor import more than 20,000 square foot of this product per year. Currently there are only two importers in the continental US. Quantity and availability is limited. We currently have less than 2,000 square foot in stock (call for stock or special order 713 785-0889). In the continental US there are only 4,000 sq/ft available, as of 1/12/2004, half in California and half in Houston, TX.

We have setup a waiting list for this product. Once we are out of stock, waiting period ranges from 2 to 12 months and or until we delivered our maximum 20,000 sq/ft per year. If you have any questions or would like to be place on the waiting list please contact.

This product is extremely dense and hard. It is almost impossible to install using nails. We have design this product so that it can be glue down, using premium urethane base glue. Most solid hardwood are installed in nail down method, but since this product is so tough we manufacture it in 24" length (known as shorts). With this design we are to make use of this product.

Installation

On cement sub-floor, you could glue this directly to cement sub-floor after it is level, but you should take moisture reading to determine if it is safe. you should consider the normal moisture changes occurring from season to season and when you do moisture test make sure it is not during the dry season. This product is precious, moisture proofing would not be a bad idea. You can glue down vinyl then the product, or you can lay construction plastic over 3/4" plywood and nail it down prior to glue down or nail down of flooring product.
